Is it normal to think about your partner all the time?
Yes, it’s common to have your partner on your mind a lot, especially when a relationship is new or you’re feeling especially close. It’s only worth paying attention to if the thoughts feel upsetting or make it hard to focus on the rest of your life.
When you’re excited about someone, your brain naturally keeps circling back to them—replaying conversations, wondering what they’re doing, or looking forward to seeing them. Lots of people go through especially partner-focused stretches, and it doesn’t automatically mean you’re clingy or doing anything wrong.
People differ in how much they like that feeling: some find it sweet, while others want more mental space. If you can still enjoy your own interests and get through your day, it’s usually just part of being attached. If it feels compulsive, stressful, or starts taking over your sleep, work, or friendships, it may help to make room for routines and interests that are yours, too.
