Is it normal to argue for hours?
It can happen once in a while, especially when emotions are high, but arguing for hours regularly isn’t a healthy or useful pattern. What matters is whether you can take a break, feel safe, and eventually work things out.
A long argument can happen when you’re both upset, talking past each other, or trying to settle something important. Plenty of people have had one that dragged on far longer than they meant it to.
If it happens often, though, it may be a sign that the conversation is stuck rather than getting anywhere. Taking a break and agreeing on a time to come back to it can help; you don’t have to solve everything in one sitting.
Arguments should still feel safe and respectful. If they involve threats, intimidation, or making you afraid to disagree, that’s more than ordinary conflict.
