Is it normal to dislike most people?
It’s normal not to enjoy most people’s company or to feel irritated by people sometimes. If you feel intense dislike nearly all the time and it’s making you lonely or miserable, that’s worth paying attention to.
You don’t have to like everyone—or even want to spend time with most people. Lots of people find small talk tiring, feel more comfortable with a few close friends, or get irritated by strangers and their general… stranger-ness. That doesn’t make you a bad person.
It’s worth asking what “dislike” means for you. If it’s mostly “I’d rather be left alone,” that may just be your social style. If it feels like constant anger or contempt, or it’s pushing away people you actually want in your life, stress, burnout, or feeling hurt can sometimes be part of the picture. You can respect people’s boundaries without needing to enjoy them.
