Is it normal to hate driving lessons?
Yes, it’s normal to hate driving lessons. They can feel stressful and awkward when you’re learning a skill in public while someone watches and corrects you.
Driving lessons pile a lot together: traffic, new skills, quick decisions, and an instructor commenting while you’re trying to concentrate. It’s understandable if that makes you tense or leaves you dreading the next lesson. Plenty of people dislike the learning process even if they eventually become comfortable drivers.
You can ask your instructor to slow down, explain things differently, or spend more time practicing one skill before moving on. If it’s the instructor or car that’s making lessons miserable, switching can help too. Hating lessons doesn’t mean you’re bad at driving—or that you have to enjoy learning it.
