Is it normal to just hate people?
It’s normal to feel fed up with people sometimes, especially when you’re stressed or hurt. If you feel this way constantly, it may be worth looking at what’s behind it and whether you need more space or support.
Lots of people have stretches where everyone seems annoying, selfish, or exhausting. Stress, disappointment, burnout, or simply needing time alone can make “I’m sick of people” feel like “I hate people.” The feeling itself doesn’t make you a bad person, and you don’t have to enjoy everyone you meet.
It’s different if the hatred feels constant, leaves you isolated, or comes with urges to hurt someone. In that case, take those feelings seriously and talk them through with someone you trust or a mental health professional. You can dislike people and still choose to treat them—and yourself—with basic care.
