Is it normal to lie about your age?
Depends.It depends
It’s not unusual to fudge your age, especially online or to avoid sharing personal details. Whether it’s harmless or a problem depends on the situation and what the lie affects.
People sometimes shave off a few years, add a few, or give a vague answer because they feel self-conscious or want more privacy. It happens, but that doesn’t mean everyone is comfortable with it.
A small fib in casual conversation may not matter much. In dating, though, it can undermine trust once it comes out; on official forms or anywhere age affects eligibility, it can have real consequences. If you’re lying because you feel pressured or unsafe sharing your age, it’s reasonable to protect your privacy without giving a false answer.
