Is it normal to love your therapist?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes, it’s normal to feel love, affection, or even a crush toward your therapist. The feelings can be real without meaning you need to act on them; talking about them in therapy is often useful.
Therapy involves trust, attention, and feeling understood—things that can bring up powerful affection or attachment. Some people mean “I love and appreciate this person,” while others develop a crush or romantic feelings. You’re not strange for either reaction.
Your therapist should keep the relationship professional, so acting on romantic feelings isn’t appropriate. You can tell them what you’re feeling; a good therapist can help you explore it without shaming you or crossing boundaries.
