Is it normal to regret high school?
Yes, it’s normal to look back on high school and wish you’d done some things differently. You can feel that regret without letting it define your life now.
High school can loom large in hindsight, especially when you’re comparing what happened with what you wish you’d tried, said, or enjoyed. Lots of people look back with a mix of fondness, embarrassment, and “I should’ve…” thoughts—and sometimes the feeling changes as you get more distance from it.
You don’t have to pretend it was all great or beat yourself up for being younger and figuring things out. If there’s something you regret missing, see whether you can make room for a version of it now: reconnect with someone, pick up an interest, or give yourself the experience you wished you’d had. High school was a chapter, not your one shot at becoming yourself.
