Is it normal to talk to yourself when high?

Depends.It depends

Yes, talking to yourself more than usual while high can happen, especially if you’re feeling relaxed, distracted, or absorbed in your thoughts. It’s more concerning if you feel unable to tell what’s real or it keeps happening when you’re sober.

Being high can change your focus and make you less self-conscious, so you might narrate what you’re doing, think out loud, or react to your thoughts aloud. Lots of people do some version of this, and by itself it usually isn’t a big deal.

If you’re hearing voices as if they’re coming from outside you, feel very confused or frightened, or can’t tell what’s real, get somewhere safe and reach out to someone you trust. If it continues after you’re sober, it’s worth talking with a health professional.
