Is it normal to tip a handyman?
Depends.It depends
Tipping a handyman is appreciated, but it isn’t usually expected. A tip makes sense for especially great service or extra work, while a thank-you is perfectly fine too.
In the U.S., handymen usually set their own rates or charge for the job, so tipping isn’t a must. Plenty of people don’t tip, and most handymen won’t think twice about it.
If they went above and beyond, handled an unexpected extra task, or did a particularly good job, you can offer a tip if you’d like. A sincere thank-you, a good review, or a cold drink on a hot day is also a nice gesture.
