Is it normal to be scared of your own dad?
Depends.It depends
It can happen, but being scared of your dad—especially because he threatens, hurts, or intimidates you—is something to take seriously. You deserve support and to feel safe at home.
Fear can come from past experiences, unpredictable reactions, or feeling pressured to keep the peace. But you shouldn’t have to manage that fear alone, and it isn’t your fault if your dad’s behavior is making you feel unsafe.
If you can, tell a trusted adult—such as a relative, teacher, school counselor, or family friend—what’s going on. If you’re in immediate danger, get somewhere safe and contact local emergency services or a trusted person who can help right away.
