Is it normal to not remember much of your childhood?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes, it’s normal to have only a few clear memories from childhood. People’s memories vary, and having gaps by itself doesn’t prove anything bad happened.
A lot of people remember childhood as scattered snapshots rather than a continuous story. Early memories are often especially hazy, and family stories or photos can make some moments easier to recall than others.
Having few memories doesn’t automatically mean you experienced trauma, and it doesn’t mean your memories are secretly hiding something. If the gaps upset you, or you’re also having troubling memory problems now, talking it through with a mental health professional could help.
