Is it normal to hate therapy?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes, it’s normal to hate therapy, or at least to hate how it feels. Therapy can be uncomfortable, and the therapist, approach, or timing may simply not be a good fit for you.
Therapy asks you to talk about personal things, sit with uncomfortable feelings, and sometimes try changes you’re not excited about. It makes sense if that feels awkward, frustrating, exhausting, or just not your thing. Some people find it helpful; others really dislike it, and both reactions are valid.
If you want support but hate your current experience, you could tell the therapist what isn’t working, try someone with a different style, or take a break. You also don’t have to force yourself to love therapy for your feelings about it to count.
